Camelotta Advisors Founds Non-Profit Aimed at Boosting the Ranks of Minority Investment Advisors

In recognition of Black History Month, Camelotta Advisors – one of the nation’s largest Black owned investment advisory outfits – announced the creation of Camelotta Cares, a non-profit focused on promoting wealth management careers specifically for underrepresented communities.

The aim is to leverage the energy around Mr. Grigg’s connections, experience, and symbolism to improve diversity and experience amongst the ranks.

Camelotta Advisors provides a suite of services including investment advice & management, portfolio de-carbonization, financial planning, and divorce analysis. As a fiduciary, Camelotta works with clients with long investment horizons to help guard their net worth against erosion from inflation so that they can use their wealth to establish meaningful legacies.

“Wealthy families and individuals define much of the political and social landscape in America.  Formerly dominated by white established men, we are increasingly finding first generation wealth amongst underrepresented groups including African Americans, women, and immigrants living the American Dream.  Most wealthy individuals rely on their investment advisors to make a range of decisions about where they will focus their time energy and, most importantly, money.

Unfortunately, when I attend the Schwab Impact Conference of the biggest and best advisors in America, I count myself as the only Black investment advisor amongst their ranks.  Clearly there is an imbalance between the money and power, and those advising it.  Advice is informed by experience and the lack of experiential diversity means that most of the money and power in this country is advised blind to the realities of minority communities.  This will change.  This has to change and Camelotta wants to be the catalyst for that change.  In the words of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton, we need to be ‘in the room when it happens.’”
